The True Love Roast

Holy Turkey, Goose, Barbary duck, Guinea fowl, Mallard, Poussin, Quail, Partridge, Pigeon squab, Pheasant, Chicken, Aylesbury duck, Batman!
As many of you know, my crew and I are well-known in the meat-eating circles for our dedication to the finer things in life (Turduckens, Deep-fried turkeys, La Caja China pig roasts). But never have we attempted a task as herculean as the True Love Roast, a British creation featuring one bird (stuffed inside the next bird) for each of the 12 days of Christmas. 12 birds, 50,000 calories, 8 hours in the industrial oven?!?!?
I'm happy to report that I've now found the perfect entree for my Bar Mitzvah dinner.

Sea Lice vs. Sea Life

Another reason (besides the methylmercury situation) that farmed fish can cause big problems. Apparently the parasites the farmed fish promote end up killing off a lot of wild fish that live in the same waters. Not good.

The Gift that Keeps on Giving

I know it's that time of year when all of your loyal To Beet readers ask yourselves, "What should I get Jeremy for Christmas." Please see above. (Don't ask me what it is, I have no idea other than that IT'S AWESOME!!!)

No Knead for Speed

The NY Times recently excerpted a really easy no knead bread recipe from ARTISAN BREAD IN FIVE MINUTES A DAY. And while the recipe sounds too good to be true, I tried it on Sunday and it really worked. Give it a shot--you'll be impressed.
